Wandering through dreams at Night

Published by Joules on October 5, 2009

My latest adventure into the world of crochet has been an interesting one.   When I first learned to crochet, I didn’t know how to read patterns, so almost everything I made was made up out of my head.  But once I actually figured out how to read and follow a pattern, I became addicted to patterns and the way they always (almost!) turn out right!  So this time,  I wanted to try and let my creative urges take over and be a bit more artistic than what I usually make.

Those endeavors resulted in this.

It reminds me a bit of a the plant Tradescantia pallida, or more commonly known as a Wandering Jew,  (although that name isn’t very politically correct these days ), which is one of my favorite kind of plants.

I was inspired by this amazing Alpaca wool blend I got at Michaels the other day, and the rest just kinda fell into place.  I think what excites me the most about this piece,  is the fact that all the leaves are removable and can be placed on any flower.  I’m a little in love with it. ~_~

PS. This post was brought to you by Christine! However, i was logged in as Joules and didn’t notice and now I can’t figure out how to change it ><

Love is in the Air!

Published by Christine on September 30, 2009

Well, Twin Love has been open for just over a week now and we already have three sales!! I suppose it may not seem like a lot, but to me it means the world.  :)  I’m so excited that there are people who love what we’re creating and who are supporting us in this endeavor! It’s a fantastic feeling!

It’s also been quite a learning process, as all things in life should be.   I love all the feedback, ideas and advice we’re getting! So keep it coming!

One of the things I’m wanting to branch more into is making things for little ones, newborns, and toddlers.   The picture to the right is my first attempt at making something tiny and I think it turned out pretty well!  It’s soooo cute that it makes me pine a little for a wee one of my own! But not yet! In the mean time I’ll just keep making stuff for you <3

I’m also thinking about what to make for all the fellows out there! I’ve been pestering my guy friends asking them what kind of scarves, hats, etc they might like to wear in the colder seasons and I’ve got some ideas brewing!

It’s all happening.

Welcome!

It’s finally begun.

After years and years of Joules telling me that my crocheted creations are lovely and I should really think about an Etsy shop, I’ve finally taken that step.  I’ve been crocheting for quite some time now, but only for gifts and the pure enjoyment of its creation.  And would I love to spend the rest of my life crafting? Oh my goodness yes.  And yet,  I was always lacking a motivation, a certain confidence in myself.  But once I taught Julianne to crochet and she started making these amazing beautiful things, I knew i had to catch up, or be left behind!  Working together, a fantastic vision of what Twin Love could be was born.  I’m so excited and happy to say that our etsy shop, Twin Love Design, is now officially open.

Yay!

I want to thank everyone for all the love and encouragement we’ve received.  The site is still rusty, and I havent finished posting all the items yet, but it’s a solid beginning.

Hope everyone is having a lovely day!
